Speaking Opportunities
Speakers are welcome to apply to talk about any subject that relates to the Internet of Things. Suggested topics include: M2M, Artificial Intelligence, Drones (UAVs), Self-Driving Vehicles, Machine Vision, Wearables (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Fitness Trackers, Smartwatches), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Industrial Asset Control & Monitoring, Smart Home, Smart City, Big Data, Robotics, Machine Learning, Autonomous Transport, Maker/Hacker products (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel Edison), LPWAN, Sensors, 5G, Tech Startups, Wireless Sensor Networks.
Speakers are also welcome to demo products and services, but overly commercial presentations are strictly forbidden! If an audience thinks they are being forced to listen to a sales pitch, they may leave and never return. This could not only inflict potential damage to your reputation, but also ours. Just remember that attendees want to be informed and entertained, so keep your talk topical but not too technical. Although there will be some hardcore techies and software engineers, many who attend are non-technical entrepreneurs, marketeers, academics, researchers, and executives.
Events take place between 6pm and 9pm, and follow a similar format each month; three 15 minute talks, each followed by a 5 min audience Q&A. After the third talk, the speakers are invited to participate in a discussion panel, which typically lasts around 45 minutes. We recommend potential speakers view previous talks and attend at least one of our Meetups in advance to get an idea of the environment, formate and audience. Potential speakers should contact Simon Montford via his Meetup profile page, or via our contact form.
